I’ve experienced a variety of ways to have a first look with a bride and groom, as an Atlanta, Georgia Wedding Photographer. While most couples go for a first look these days, some couples are still opting out all together. I’m excited to share this idea from a recent wedding and why we think you should consider it for your “No First Look” wedding.

#1 Ease Your Wedding Day Nerves

First, if you’re skipping out on the first look, sharing this moment still provides a brief sigh of relief. It eases some anxious nerves that couples typically feel after the first look, without actually seeing one another. Wedding days are fast moving with lots going on and this is a great way to focus on one another amidst the noise.

#2 Unique Images

Next, no matter how brief a moment, this allows a unique opportunity for your photographer to capture what you otherwise wouldn’t get. Keeping this moment private is essential. You can’t focus on each other and soak it all in with constant distractions of those around you. A great time to schedule this is when your bridesmaids are getting into their dresses. Sneak away for a few. When you come back to the suite, you could have a “first look” moment with the girls!

#3 Your Memories

It’s absolutely true what everyone says… your wedding day will fly by faster than you realized time could fly in one single day. If you’re not going with a first look, sharing this moment to focus on each other helps slow the day down. It reminds you what this is all about.
