Raira + James picked the DREAMIEST engagement venue, called The Swan House in Buckhead, just north of Atlanta. (Fun fact, The Swan House was a filming location of The Hunger Games:Catching Fire.) As an Atlanta, Georgia wedding photographer, I was more than excited to spend the afternoon at The Swan House with my beautiful couple! I mean, the entire property is to DIE FOR!!! The Swan House was built in 1928 as a Classical Mansion. As we explored the property, there was a magical feeling about the place. You just have to experience it for yourself! Everything about this shoot was perfect. The adoration between Raira + James, the exciting time we had, the venue, the day, it was all amazing.

Raira + James met unofficially in a college class their sophomore year. His English accent caught her attention right away, as he was a talkative member of the class they shared.

Little did they know that in 3 years, they would have a chance encounter that would change everything.

They saw one another on campus over the next year or two. James always thought Raira was gorgeous and she was always envious of his dimples. Senior year, James moved into the apartment directly across from Raira. And as fate would have it, the two bumped into each other while out playing Pokemon Go one evening. They quickly evolved into best friends, becoming inseparable. Once they graduated, Raira + James started dating and the rest was history.

It’s easy to see just how much they love one another… The way they laugh together and share looks, it’s infectious!

Their favorite date nights are spent at one of their favorite restaurants… Indian food or a Brazilian steakhouse.

A typical Saturday for the couple usually involves staying home, cooking dinner together and watching TV, cuddled up with their dog, Jerry.

James adores Raira’s laughs. And it’s not just that he loves her laughs but he recognizes the differences in them and watches for his favorite. An uncontrollable giggle that lights up the room.

In February, James planned out the perfect proposal for Raira. It was everything a girl could want. A manicure with your bestie. Getting dressed up. A nice dinner. A “reason” to go to your parents home for pictures after dinner. A blindfold because your mother supposedly has a surprise for you that you can’t see until the moment is just right. The blindfold comes off. You hear a romantic song playing. Rose petals leading you to a blanket and champagne. The man of your dreams on one knee before you. You say “YES!” and you hear an eruption of cheering behind you. Your families there to celebrate with you both. A night to remember, for sure.

One of their favorite features about The Swan House is this staircase with the flowing fountain. A gorgeous backdrop for their engagement photos.

Being together is an easy comfort for Raira + James. Being friends first before starting their relationship has given them a solid foundation. A foundation of friendship, support, and comfort.

A little champagne fun on the front lawn…

This secret garden at The Swan House was one of my favorite little spots. It’s hidden away amongst the trees. The colors are EVERYTHING.

Don’t you love her ring?! It’s fitting for such a beautiful bride-to-be.

Our last stop of the afternoon was this building on the side of the main house at The Swan House. The architecture was breathtaking. The columns gave us a beautiful setting!

This beautiful wall was right next to the columns so we popped over for a few moments.
